Pharmacy Technician Certificate

Pharmacy Technician Program (PHT. CERT)

Illinois and Indiana students must be licensed by the State of Illinois and/or State of Indiana prior to the onset of internship. Please note processing of the State license/approval takes approximately eight weeks.

Students must complete all PHT program and general education course requirements with a "C" or better.

Short Course Option Credits
PHT 115 Fundamentals of Pharmacy Technician Practice 6
 
  1. Successful completion of PHT 115 can be substituted for PHT 100 for a total of 3 credit hours.
  2. Each internship requires 150 hours of on the job training for a total of 300 hours.
  3. PHT students cannot register for the pharmacy math course more than two times.

Pharmacy Technician Program Suggested Sequence for Part-Time Students

Illinois and Indiana students must be licensed by the State of Illinois and Indiana prior to the onset of internship. Eligibility for licensure may be limited by the result of a criminal background check. Please note processing of the state license(s) takes approximately eight weeks. A drug screening is usually required by most pharmacy employers.
