NATIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE MONTH EVENT: Drones & Dogs

SSC Criminal Justice Program is hosting a “Drones & Dogs” Event for National Criminal Justice Month on Thursday, March 9 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM in the Kindig Performing Arts Center and lecture Halls on the College’s Main Campus in South Holland.

Established by the United States Congress in 2006, March is National Criminal Justice Month. Its purpose is to promote societal awareness around the causes and consequences of crime, as well as strategies for preventing and responding to crime. The American Academy for Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) also recognizes March as National Criminal Justice Month.

  • PART I: “Drones:” Drone Demonstration by the Burr Ridge Police Department
  • Explanation by Burr Ridge PD & Keenan Newton – Drone Pro with FAA, Committee Co-chair for drones for the MABAS Illinois, Drone Program Coordinator for Romeoville Fire Academy.

  • PART I: “Dogs:”
  • Louie from Worth PD; Cook County K9’s Zilly; and Hatty from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office

High Schools:

Each school is invited to bring up to 12 students plus a chaperone. Please RSVP to Becky Walters, CJS Program Coordinator, by March 1, 2023.
