Paraprofessional Educator – Part-Time, Grand Funded

Job Summary:

The Adult Education Paraprofessional Educator is responsible for assisting Adult Education Instructors with preparation of materials and classroom instruction. The Adult Education Paraprofessional Educator will report to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists teacher in material preparation and instruction of students (e.g., provide one-on-one and/or group instruction; administer diagnostic and standardized tests; prepares worksheets, bulletin boards, tests, charts, for students).
  • Work with support staff to ensure that all student documentation meets ICCB regulations.
  • At the direction of the teacher, gathers and maintains data on students (e.g., take roll, check assignments).
  • Tutors’ individual students (e.g., help them prepare assignments or explain material they do not understand); assists with independent study.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy classroom environment.
  • Monitor students while working with computer aided instruction.
  • Assume other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Adult Education.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Education required.
  • Classroom experience or externship experience as a Teacher’s Aide/Paraprofessional.
  • Ability to multi-task and use general office equipment.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.


This is a part-time Grant position for 9-24 hours a week, 12 weeks a year. The salary is $15.00 per hour.
