Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff

Aaron Zambrano — Head Coach

Coach Aaron Zambrano enters the 2026 season as the new Head Coach (1st year). He joined the South Suburban College (SSC) coaching staff in 2015 as an assistant coach, with 2026 marking his 11th total year with the Bulldogs. He briefly stepped away in 2017 to work with professional soccer club, Chicago Fire FC before returning in 2018. An alumnus of SSC, Zambrano earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts while playing for the men’s soccer program in 2012 and 2013, contributing to a team that ranked as high as 7th nationally.

So far in his coaching tenure, Coach Zambrano has helped lead the Bulldogs to an overall 110-66-10 (W-L-T) record. His impact was especially prominent when he was named Associate Head Coach (Head Assistant) in 2020. From 2020-2025, the program compiled a dominant 74-17-9 run. Since 2020, the program has had five consecutive NJCAA DII Region IV Final appearances, two NJCAA DII National Tournament appearances (2021 and 2022), and the school’s first-ever Region IV championship for women’s soccer in 2022. In 2021 and 2022, the United Soccer Coaches named the SSC coaching staff the Junior College Women’s DII Regional Staff of the Year honors. In 2025, the coaching staff were named the Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year by going undefeated during the regular season in Region IV play.

At the high school level, Zambrano served as the girls’ varsity assistant at Thornwood High School (2015), the head JV girls’ coach and varsity assistant at Marian Catholic (2019–22). He was named the head coach for the T.F. North/South (T.F. United) girls’ varsity program starting in 2023. There, he was named South Suburban Conference Coach of the Year in 2023 and earned Sportsmanship Team of the Year honors from both the conference and IHSSCA in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.

A resident of Harvey, IL, Coach Zambrano also works at Thornton Township High School supporting ESL/ELL students.


Luis Gallardo — Assistant Coach

Coach Luis “Coach G” Gallardo is joining South Suburban College as an assistant college soccer coach (1st year). He brings over 13 years of coaching and player development experience across grassroots, youth academy, and high school soccer. Since 2018, the Bremen High School alumnus has served as a JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant for the boys’ and girls’ soccer programs at Bloom Township High School. Alongside his coaching career, Gallardo works within the Bloom school district supporting ESL/ELL students and local families. Coach G brings a passionate approach to player development and is committed to building a strong soccer culture at South Suburban College.


Salvador Gonzalez — Assistant Coach

Coach Salvador “Chava” Gonzalez is joining South Suburban College as an assistant college soccer coach (1st year). He previously served in a coaching role at Acero Daniel Zizumbo Charter during the 2021–2022 season, focusing on student-athlete development on and off the field. A versatile player with experience as a midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper, Gonzalez competed for youth travel clubs including Chicago United, South Side Fire, and FC Chicago. During his high school career at Acero Hector P. Garcia, he played goalkeeper and center back, helping lead his team to a fourth-place state tournament finish. Coach Chava brings a passionate approach to player development and is committed to building a strong soccer culture at South Suburban College.
