Aaron Zambrano — Head Coach

Coach Aaron Zambrano joined the Bulldogs coaching staff in 2015. The 2025 season marked his tenth year at South Suburban College. He briefly stepped away in 2017 to work with Chicago Fire FC and returned to the SSC coaching staff in 2018. He also attended and played soccer for South Suburban College in 2012-13 where he earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts. In 2012, he was a part of the team that was ranked as high as 7th in the nation.

During his time at SSC, Coach Zambrano helped the Bulldogs to a 87-65-8 (W-L-T) record, including four consecutive NJCAA DII Region IV Final appearances from 2021-24, one NJCAA Region IV championship in 2022 (the first in SSC history for women’s soccer), two NJCAA DII National Tournament appearances in 2021-22, and an incredible 59-16-7 (W-L-T) record from 2020-2024. Coach Zambrano was also part of the staff to earn the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Women’s DII Regional Staff of the Year award in 2021 and 2022.

Aside from SSC, Coach Zambrano was the girls’ soccer varsity assistant at Thornwood High School in 2015, and the head JV girls’ coach and varsity assistant coach at Marian Catholic from 2019-22. In 2023, he took over the T.F. North/South (T.F. United) girls’ varsity soccer program where he won the South Suburban Conference Coach of the Year in honors in 2023, and Sportsmanship Team of the Year in 2023 and 2024 from the South Suburban Conference and Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Coach Zambrano currently works at Thornton Township High School assisting ESL/ELL students and resides in Harvey, IL.
