Kryder Solo Exhibition Now on Display in Photo Four Gallery of South Suburban College

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–The Art & Design Department of South Suburban College is pleased to announce a special guest artist exhibition titled “Eclectically Yours, Tanya,” photographs by artist Tanya Kryder in the Photo Four Gallery through April 4, 2019. There will be a closing reception for the artist on Thursday, April 4th at 12:30 p.m. The Photo Four Gallery is located in Room 4338 of SSC’s Main Campus.

Tanya Kryder is an emerging fine art photographer based in Northeastern Indiana. She works in still life—constructed reality through digital composites and experimental (alternative/historical processes). While her composite work is dark and surreal with a bit of whimsy, that follows several themes with one common connection, the human condition. Meanwhile, her alternative process work is still in its experimental phase and is ever-changing in content and subject matter.

Kryder began her love affair with the camera at a young age. However, it wasn’t until she found a mentor that taught her traditional darkroom that she realized she had a passion for the whole artistic process, form capture to final print making. She holds a degree in Fine Art Photography from
Academy of Art University. She started her freelance career in 2009.

Kryder gained national recognition for her volunteer work with a project near and dear to her heart, focused on historic cemetery preservation. She worked on the project as the photographer, photo editor and graphic artist. Tanya has participated in four group shows, two art fairs and has had work published in more than 14 publications.

SSC Galleries are open at minimum Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The galleries are closed on weekends and holidays. The public is welcome to visit art exhibitions and receptions at no charge.
