The SSC Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI) project is funded to support 300 participants through the completion of short-term educational opportunities in the following areas: Nursing & Patient Care Technician, Community Healthcare Worker, Certified Production Technician, and Barber Technician. WEI Participants will also earn stackable credentials including:
Barber Technician Certification – FLYER
Certified Production Tech/Manufacturing Basics Certificate (CPT)
Earned Credentials Include:
- Certified Forklift Operator (National Safety Council) Average salary: $38,500 – FLYER
- Solar Photovoltaic Installer Average salary: $48,900 – FLYER
- Safety Certification
- Quality and Measurement Certification
- Production Certification
- Maintenance Certification
Community Health Worker Basic Certification – FLYER
Earned Credentials Include:
- Contact Tracing – FLYER
Patient Care Technician (CPCT/A) – FLYER
Earned Credentials Include:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (BNATP) – FLYER
- Phlebotomist
- EKG Technician
Eligible participants will receive tuition assistance, access to emergency funds for transportation, childcare, and other emergencies, financial assistance to cover the cost of books and materials, career networking and development opportunities, advisement (personal, academic, and career), tutoring, and other supportive services.
To be eligible for participation individuals must demonstrate financial need and have an interest in and commitment to completing a certificate or program in one of the academic areas listed.
