The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials and Recycling Warehouse is a groundbreaking sustainability initiative led by South Suburban College in South Holland. As the only facility of its kind in the region, we are proud to offer innovative, community-focused recycling solutions that support environmental stewardship and economic development.
Our recent expansion includes the installation of the advanced Xcylcer machine, enabling us to process and monetize recyclable materials in-house. This technology has dramatically increased our output—producing up to 60,000 pounds of aluminum every two weeks—and is driving new opportunities for growth.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to introduce glass recycling capabilities and dairy processing attachments to further support farmers, food processors, municipalities, and school districts. The Charm Center is more than a recycling hub—it’s a catalyst for sustainable growth, regional collaboration, and technological excellence.
Join us as we build a cleaner, more resilient future for our community. View the highlight video below for more details.
