South Suburban College Men’s Basketball Advances to District Championship


South Holland, IL. – The South Suburban College men’s basketball team secured a spot in the District Championship Game by defeating Morton College 89-79 on Sunday. The Bulldogs avenged an earlier season loss to Morton, with all five sophomores scoring in double figures.

Isaiah Green led the team with 27 points, while Samar Bures contributed 21 points, six rebounds, and four assists, making all 16 of his free throw attempts. AJ Abrams added 12 points and six assists, Tanner Fields scored 11 points, and Angel Edmonson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds.

The Bulldogs will face No. 2 seed Rock Valley College in the District Championship Game on Saturday, March 7, at Rock Valley College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
