HVAC/TC: DDC Conversion And Related Work

Titled, sealed bids will be received in the Office of Purchasing, Room 2115, at South Suburban College, 15800 S. State Street, South Holland, IL 60473, up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. on February 01, 2019 for the following work: HVAC/TC: DDC CONVERSION AND RELATED WORK for SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE. Bids will be opened at that time, or shortly thereafter in the President’s Conference Room.

Work will be let under one prime contract, to the lowest responsible bidder. Plans and Specifications may be obtained on or after January 14, 2019, at the office of the Architect, PLANERA ARCHITECTS 18225 Morris Avenue, Homewood, Illinois, 60430. Contractors wishing to submit proposal are advised to contact the architect prior to picking up plan and specifications. Further, all questions regarding the Plans and Specifications should be provided to the architect prior to the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting. The architect may be contacted at 708-747-3600. ALL BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED. If not pre-qualified, complete A.I.A. Document A-305 (Contractors Qualification Statement) for consideration before picking up Plans & Specifications.

A 10% Bid Bond will be required of all bidders. 100% Performance and Labor/Material Bonds will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on January 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mi-Jack Room, South Suburban College, 15800 South State Street, South Holland, Illinois 60473. Bidders will examine the plans and specifications and the location in which said work is to be done and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work, and all bids will be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity and judgment. Compliance with all requirements of the laws of the State of Illinois shall be mandatory. These requirements shall include, but are not limited to, payment of the prevailing wage including fringe benefits for labor on the work to be done, the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public works projects, the State of Illinois Human Rights Act, and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission. The Board of Trustees, Community College District #510, South Holland, Illinois, reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interests of the Owner.
