MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the SSC Wellness Committee is to promote a culture of physical and mental health for all College employees. This includes increasing awareness of factors contributing to health and well-being, inspiring employees to take responsibility for healthy lifestyle choices at home and in the workplace, and participating in community health.
GOALS:
- Encouraging healthy lifestyles.
- Creating a culture of compassion and well-being.
- Coordinating wellness events and activities on campus.
- Providing wellness education.
- Promoting holistic health, and driving awareness and marketing.
STRUCTURE:
The Committee shall be made up of a minimum of one and maximum of three employees from each of the following areas:
- Human Resources
- Faculty
- Support Staff
- TPE/Grant
- Administration
- SSC Wellness Center
FUNDING:
The Wellness Committee will administer funding provided through SSC healthcare partners (currently $5,000 per year) with approval from the Insurance Committee. Formal votes for proposals for funding will require a majority vote of all members of each committee. Meeting minutes are recorded and made public.
ABOUT US:
The South Suburban College Wellness Committee is a volunteer committee of SSC employees supported by Human Resources and reporting to the Insurance Committee.
