South Suburban College CHaRM Center is Hosting Community Recycle Day in Celebration of Earth Day


South Holland, IL — South Suburban College (SSC) CHaRM Center (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) invites the entire community to take part in Community Recycle Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at SSC’s Main Campus, 15800 S. State Street, South Holland, IL.

This exciting, family-friendly event offers residents and surrounding communities a simple and impactful way to declutter their homes while protecting the planet. Community members are encouraged to bring a wide variety of recyclable items that are often difficult to dispose of responsibly.

As a thank you for participating, attendees will receive a FREE Food Scrap Compost Bin (while supplies last) to continue sustainable habits at home.

What You Can Bring

Household Recycling
• Paper, cardboard, plastics, metal cans, glass bottles and jars

Electronics & Small Appliances
• Computers, TVs, printers, mobile devices, microwaves, and more

Clothing & Textiles
• Clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, toys

Styrofoam
• Must be clean with no food, tape, or labels

Special Items On-Site
Shred Dawg for secure document shredding
Data Dawg for safe hard drive disposal

Community Recycle Day makes it easy for residents to take meaningful environmental action in one convenient location.
