South Suburban College Launches “99 for 99” Campaign: 99 Reasons to Give

The Countdown Is On – 99 Days Until South Suburban College Celebrates 99 Years of Excellence

South Holland, IL — South Suburban College is proud to launch its 99 for 99 Campaign: 99 Reasons to Give, a special fundraising initiative celebrating 99 years of educational excellence, student achievement, and community impact.

Founded in 1927 as Thornton Junior College, South Suburban College has transformed lives for nearly a century, empowering generations of students to pursue their dreams, strengthen their communities, and build brighter futures. As the College approaches its 99th birthday on September 19, 2026, supporters are invited to honor this remarkable legacy by making a gift of $99 in recognition of 99 years of excellence in education.

Every contribution made through the 99 for 99 Campaign directly supports:

  • Student Success – Providing scholarships, resources, and opportunities that help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Academic Excellence – Strengthening innovative programs and learning experiences that prepare students for success.
  • Community Impact – Expanding access to education and workforce development throughout the Southland region.
  • A Stronger Future – Investing in the next generation of leaders as SSC prepares for its Centennial Celebration in 2027.

Over the next 99 days, South Suburban College will share 99 inspiring reasons to support SSC via social media, highlighting stories of student achievement, dedicated faculty and staff, community partnerships, and the countless ways the College continues to make a difference.

“This campaign is about celebrating our history while investing in our future,” said SSC Vice President of Academic Services Tasha S. Williams. “Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure that South Suburban College remains a place where opportunity, innovation, and student success thrive for generations to come.”

As the College counts down to its 99th birthday, the excitement continues to build toward an even greater milestone, South Suburban College’s Centennial Celebration in September 2027.
