South Suburban College Seeks Dean of Allied Health & Careers to Lead Frontline Healthcare Programs into Historic Future

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–South Suburban College (SSC) is seeking a new Dean of Allied Health & Career Programs to lead its 12 frontline healthcare programs into a period of significant strategic growth. The Dean will report to the Vice President of Academic Services and be responsible for the educational welfare of students and the professional needs of staff within the division. The Dean will work collaboratively with the Vice President, program coordinators and faculty to promote programmatic advancement and innovation. The Dean has the administrative oversight and authority to manage decisions on matters related the division: plan, organize, administer, develop, and evaluate the programs; provide leadership for faculty and staff in offering quality educational services for college students, and supervise and evaluate the performances of assigned personnel.

For over 90 years South Suburban College has been preparing caring people to provide exceptional care – offering a wide range of Certificate and Associate Degree healthcare career pathways with graduates exceeding the national certification exam pass rates in all programs.
As the critical need for qualified health care professionals continues to grow, South Suburban College was awarded a historic $51 million capital improvement grant through the State of Illinois’ 2019 capital bill to build a 130,000 square foot, four-story state-of-the-art Allied Health & Nursing Center (AHNC). The proposed Center will provide cutting-edge technology and instructional space that will expand SSC’s capacity for its current programs by more that 260%, while launching four new healthcare programs for future students in Southland community.
