South Holland, IL – South Suburban College (SSC) Athletics invites the community to join in a special day of celebration as the SSC Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams host Sophomore Day on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The Women’s Basketball team will tip off at 1:00 p.m., followed by the Men’s Basketball team at 3:00 p.m. The event will honor the sophomore student-athletes for their dedication, leadership, and contributions to the Bulldog Basketball program throughout their time at SSC.
In addition to celebrating current players, SSC will proudly induct 2019 graduate Courtney Carter into the NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame. Carter’s induction recognizes outstanding athletic achievement, commitment to excellence, and lasting impact on the program and the broader athletic community.
“Sophomore Day is always a meaningful opportunity to recognize the hard work and commitment of our student-athletes,” said SSC Coach John Pigatti. “We are especially proud to celebrate Courtney Carter’s incredible accomplishments and his well-deserved induction into the NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame.”
Fans, alumni, students, and community members are encouraged to attend and show their Bulldog pride as SSC honors both its current standouts and a distinguished alumna.
