South Holland, IL — The South Suburban College (SSC) Bulldogs Baseball team delivered a remarkable 2026 season defined by dominance, resilience, and championship success.
Finishing the year with an impressive 42–16 overall record, the Bulldogs captured the Region 4 Championship, marking another milestone in the program’s proud tradition of excellence. The team surged through the latter part of the season on a 17-game winning streak, showcasing depth, discipline, and determination that carried them into postseason play.
The Bulldogs were especially formidable on their home field, going a perfect 20–0 at Steve Ruzich Stadium, turning their home turf into an unbreakable fortress for opponents throughout the season.
Their postseason run advanced to the District Tournament, where the team battled fiercely but concluded play with a 1–2 record against top regional competition.
“This season was a testament to the commitment and hard work of our student-athletes and coaching staff,” said Coach Ruzich. “Their performance on the field and in the classroom reflects the very best of Bulldog pride.”
The 2026 season will be remembered not only for its wins, but for the culture of excellence, teamwork, and perseverance displayed by the players and coaches representing SSC.
As the Bulldogs look ahead to next season, the foundation built this year sets the stage for continued success both on and off the field.
