We have not yet determined whether they meet licensing requirements outside of the State of Illinois. Students are encouraged to review the information about their program of interest before enrolling to determine if it meets the educational licensure requirements in their desired state. Contact them to gain information and guidance for licensure outside of Illinois.

Program Credentialing Requirements
Associate Degree Nursing Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to take the National Council of Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The curriculum of the Associate Degree Nursing Program meets the academic requirement for Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and Indiana State Board of Nursing which grants licensure to nurses through an application and examination process.
Barbering The Barber College curriculum meets the academic requirements to sit for the State of Illinois Barber license examination through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment in Barbering in the State of Illinois.
Basic Nurse Assistant Training Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Illinois Nurse Aide Competency Exam (INACE). The curriculum of the Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program is approved by the Illinois Department Public Health (IDPH).
Coding Specialist The Medical Coding program prepares students to take the American Health Information Management Associations Certified Coding Specialist exam and the AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist –Physician Based exam.
Cosmetology The Cosmetology curriculum meets the academic requirements to sit for the State of Illinois Cosmetology license examination through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment in Cosmetology in the State of Illinois.
Court Reporting The Court Reporting/Verbatim Technology curriculum meets the academic requirements to sit for the State of Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporter examination through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment in Court Reporting in the State of Illinois.
Early Childhood Education The Early Childhood Education curriculum at South Suburban College meets the academic requirements to apply for the appropriate Illinois Gateways to Opportunities Early Childhood and Infant-Toddler credentials in the State of Illinois. The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment in Early Childhood Education in the State of Illinois.
Echocardiography The Echocardiography degree prepares students to become credentialed in adult echocardiography. Students are prepared to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Adult certification exam and/or for the Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential.
Emergency Medical Services The Paramedic program prepares students to take the National Registry Paramedic exam. Upon successful completion of the program and the National Registry exam, students can apply for licensure through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Emergency Medical Technician The EMT certificate prepares students to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians certification exam. Upon successful completion of the program and the NREMT exam, students can apply for licensure through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Human Services This curriculum with a concentration in addictions studies meets the academic requirements to sit for the State of Illinois Certified Alcohol and Drug Advisor (CADC) examination through the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc (IAODAPCA). The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Advisor in the State of Illinois.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging The Magnetic Resonance Imaging certificate prepares students to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists national board examination.
Medical Assistant The Medical Assistant program prepares students to take both the American Medical Technologist exam and the National Healthcare Associate Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.
Occupational Therapy Assistant The Occupational Therapy Assistant program prepares students for entry-level employment and to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant, administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of the program and the exam, students can apply for licensure with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Patient Care Technician The Patient Care Technician program prepares students to take the National Healthcareer Association Certification Patient Care Technician/Assistant exam.
Pharmacy Technician The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. After successful completion of the program and the exam, students can apply for licensure through Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Phlebotomy The Phlebotomy certificate prepares students to take a number of certification exams including the American Medical Technologists Phlebotomy Technician, American Society for Clinical Pathology Phlebotomy Technician, and National Healthcare Associate Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Radiologic Technology The Radiographic Technology degree prepares students to become certified and licensed Radiographers. Certification is granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon successful completion of the national board examination. After successful completion of the national exam, students can apply for licensure with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
Real Estate The Real Estate curriculum meets the academic requirements to sit for the State of Illinois Real Estate examination through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). The program is intended to prepare students for licensure and employment in Real Estate in the State of Illinois.
